I love Mike & Ikes, NPR, chocolate, Volkswagen, ice cream, fashion, cooking, boys - just to name a few. And I got plenty of

Are positive stereotypes racist, too?

Damn, I love NPR.

An NPR audience poll to select the 100 best young adult books coughed up 75,000 voters and just two books with non-white protagonists. Even a winning writer complained. Kill the judges? No, the enemy is us. Book editors ask for a solution.

CNN Throws In The Towel of the Day: It was only a matter of time — confronting its worst ratings in 21 years, CNN is in the early stages of developing a slate of reality shows in the same vein as Anthony Bourdain’s upcoming Sunday night travel show.
According to the New York Post, the cable news network is “seeking out reality-show ideas and big-name stars not afraid to talk politics,” and top brass are soliciting ideas from the same producers who supply reality programming to channels like Bravo, Discovery, and History.
An anonymous source who has sat in on the meetings likened it to “that moment when MTV decided to stop playing music videos.”

A true story from one of our listeners…

npr:

“…five Air Force officers and one photographer stood together on a patch of ground about 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas. They’d marked the spot ‘Ground Zero. Population 5’ on a hand-lettered sign hammered into the soft ground right next to them.

As we watch, directly overhead, two F-89 jets roar into view and one of them shoots off a nuclear missile carrying an atomic warhead.

They wait. There is a countdown; 18,500 feet above them, the missile is intercepted and blows up. Which means, these men intentionally stood directly underneath an exploding 2 kiloton nuclear bomb. One of them, at the key moment (he’s wearing sunglasses), looks up. You have to see this to believe it…”

That according to password expert and researcher Joseph Bonneau.

He added that baby boomers used more secure passwords than their kids, and 45- to 55-year-olds used the strongest passwords. Teenagers created the weakest passwords.

Young kids trust the interwebs too much.

Then again, younger generations tend to have smarter forays into the interwebs.

Balance - but in the end those weak passwords are gonna bite ‘em in the ass.
