Should I?
You are blowing my post way out of proportion. If you feel it was to far, feel that way. I’m not going to be rude to you and try and make you feel bad for your opinion. You’re an American and you have the 100% right to say what you want, as do I.
Yeah- I admit, my post was pretty rude… but I feel it was truthful. Of course it was horrible that people lost their lives, I’m not that cruel of person to not feel bad about that. Every human has empathy, so chill.
But, when you hear about it on the news day in and day out- it gets annoying. It’s not a surprise a tornado hit Oklahoma. ‘Tornado Alley’ is part of Oklahoma.
A lot of shitty things happen to people everyday, yes, but I’m not going to sulk around and build a memorial. People need to move on sometimes.
It’s my opinion and at the end of the day you can sit and let it affect you or not, your choice.

Oh, hunny, if I just let the phrase of ‘my opinion, my choice’ be an excuse, then I would be turning a blind eye to every hateful, ignorant asshole out there.
Yes, your opinion is your own, but that doesn’t make it right. I wrote to give you some perspective. You can either take it and use the perspective, or tell me to go fuck myself, and keep living your life. IDGAF either way.
But, what you DON’T get to do is tell people who WERE DOING NOTHING WRONG that their decision to live their lives, where they had jobs, family, friends, COMMUNITY was the decision that led them to be destroyed by a natural disaster—which can hit ANYWHERE.
And when YOUR house gets hit with a natural disaster, I won’t shrug and say “Damn, should’ve lived somewhere else.” I will donate money, I will support, I will empathize with your loss, because I know what it is like to live through disaster, and the last thing you need is someone telling you it is your fault. ‘Cause if there is one thing I know, it’s that you can’t choose the weather.

i understand no one wants a tornado hitting their house and that people dont move places just so they can be hit with natural disasters. i am saying that when you choose to live in a place like torando alley, your taking the risk of being hit with a tornado.

I guess I was just pointing out that your post was, at best, rude—people lost their lives in a tragedy, just like they lose their lives in tragedies everyday. And people don’t go around getting lippy at people who’ve experience a tragedy, telling them that if they had chosen to live their lives better, they wouldn’t be so fucked up.
No, instead, we react with empathy that such tragedies would SUCK if they happened to us, and we realize that even if something could have been prevented IT WASN’T, so we donate, we support, we console, and we remember.
Or we make posts on the internet making stupid remarks to people who’ve done nothing wrong.
